Christmas Crafts

I work with some of the best students and teachers in the world!  We have had such fun creating Christmas gifts this year!
Here are our favorites:
Button ornaments

First, we put a bamboo skewer through the Styrofoam balls so that we would
not make a mess while painting them.

Then, we painted the balls with craft paint and let them dry.

We used one ball as a "pin cushion" and the students pinned the
buttons onto the balls.

The teachers added a bow by tucking the bow ends into the hole
made by the skewer (using the point from a skewer)
and then pinning the ribbon to the ball.

TOO CUTE!

Felt Christmas Trees

We cut out different sized circles from different colors of felt.

The students turned the side with the marker upside down so that
it would not show.

Then we cut one long piece of brown felt and rolled it
up to be the tree stump
The teachers used thin yarn and a yarn needle to secure
the end of the felt and then ran the needle through to
the middle of the rolled brown felt.

The students then used the needle to take the yarn through the middle of each circle.
They tied an occasional knot in between layers.
The teacher used hot glue to attach a yellow star to both sides of the thread at the top.
What a wonderful keepsake!
